Felissa Rose recently gave me a shout-out for The Great American Werewolf Story
My top five Felissa Rose Movies!
Felissa Rose recently gave me a shout-out for my digital novel, The Great American Werewolf Story. I have been a fan of Felissa Rose since I saw her in the movie Sleepaway Camp. Sleepaway Camp has one of the most shocking endings in horror movie history.
The following films are some of my favorite movies with the horror icon Felissa Rose.
Sleepaway Camp (1984)
Sleepaway Camp is one of those notable 80s slasher films because it is so 80s, like totally! If you want to feel 80’s nostalgia, check out this flick. Felissa Rose plays Angela Baker, a shy, traumatized teenager that everyone in the movie treats like shit for no apparent reason. Sleepaway Camp has one of the most hated bullies in an 80s movie. Judy, played by Karne Fields, is right up there with Biff (Thomas F. Wilson) in Back To The Future, Johnny (William Zabka) in The Karate Kid, and Steff (James Spader) in Pretty In Pink. If you love slashers, then you need to check out this movie. It makes a great party film.
Craving (2023)
Craving is a recent movie written and directed by J. Horton. Who doesn’t love J. Horton? He is such a loveable independent filmmaker. If you like films like The Thing or Feast, this is a great low-budget horror movie. Even with the low budget, it contains excellent gore and body horror.
Felissa Rose plays a much different character than she does in Sleepaway Camp. One of the things that stands out in Felissa’s performance in this role is her ability to portray the emotional depth and complexity of her character in the film. Craving is a metaphoric horror movie about drug addiction; sometimes, metaphor horror are the best movies to get under your skin.
Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008)
Felissa Rose returned to the Sleepaway Camp franchise in 2008 with the release of Return to Sleepaway Camp. In the film, she played a different character named Ronnie, a counselor at the summer camp.
Although the film received mixed reviews, Felissa Rose’s performance was once again praised by critics. She brought a sense of nostalgia to the film while adding her unique twist to the character.
Felissa Rose’s early career was marked by her iconic role in Sleepaway Camp and her return to the franchise in Return to Sleepaway Camp. Her performances in both films showcased her talent as an actress and cemented her status as a horror icon.
Victor Crowley (2017)
Felissa Rose starred in the 2017 horror movie Victor Crowley directed by Adam Green. The movie is a sequel to the Hatchet series and follows the story of a group of people who accidentally awaken the vengeful ghost of Victor Crowley. Felissa plays the role of Kathleen, a survivor of the previous attacks by Victor Crowley, who returns to the swamp to confront him once again.
It has been a while since I’ve seen Victory Crowley. Victory Crowley films try to take us back to 80’s style slashers like Friday the 13th and Halloween movies. Kane Hodder, most famous for playing Jason in Friday the 13th movies, plays Victory Crowley to give us those 80s slasher vibes.
Terrifier 2 (2022)
Terrifier 2 is the hit film that surprised everyone with its massive success. This movie takes us back to the video nasties of the ’70s and ’80s. The film sometimes doesn’t make sense, but I don’t think it is supposed to. Where the film delivers is on gore, and believe me, there is a lot of it in this movie. Felissa Rose isn’t in this movie much, but it is nice to see her for nostalgia reasons.
What makes the Terrifier films work is Art the Clown, portrayed by the talented David Howard Thornton. With his sinister smile, exaggerated gestures, and chilling silence, Art the Clown embodies pure malevolence. Thornton’s portrayal is masterful, infusing Art with an unsettling presence that permeates every scene. From his grotesque makeup to his sadistic acts of violence, Art the Clown solidifies his status as a modern horror icon, terrifying viewers and leaving an indelible mark on their nightmares.
Art the Clown reminds me of the famous classic silent actors of the golden age of film. Actors like Buster Kenton and Charlie Chaplin come to mind.
Well, there you have it, my favorite Felissa Rose movies. I haven’t seen Lilith yet, and that may be the next Felissa Rose film I check out. The Lilith character has always fascinated me. What are your favorite Felissa Rose films, and who are your favorite horror movie icons? Let me know in the comments.
How cool!
Yep, it is cool but Felissa is known for being awesome with her fans.
