It’s been a while since I last posted here on Substack, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working behind the scenes. In fact, things have been moving fast for The One-Eyed Monster, and I’m excited to share some major updates with you!

The One-Eyed Monster in the Horror Spotlight

In January, I had the honor of being interviewed by Bloody News about the film. Unfortunately, their website is currently down, so I can’t share the link just yet, but it was an incredible opportunity to talk about the vision behind the movie. I also wrote an article for Morbidly Beautiful, which dives into the connection between slashers and heavy metal music—a perfect tie-in for The One-Eyed Monster.

Proof-of-Concept Edits Are Looking Amazing

We filmed a proof-of-concept scene for The One-Eyed Monster in August, and I recently got a sneak peek at some of the edits. Let me tell you—it brought back so many memories of the hard work, creativity, and sheer fun that went into making this scene happen.

I can’t wait for you all to see it! The proof-of-concept is a key part of our crowdfunding campaign and will showcase exactly why this movie deserves to be made.

What Is The One-Eyed Monster About?

Imagine the twisted, neon-drenched horror of 80s slashers mixed with surreal nightmare logic. That’s The One-Eyed Monster.

Short Summary: Amy, a slender, athletic woman, stares at herself in a dirty brothel bathroom mirror. But something is wrong—her reflection isn’t her own. It’s The One-Eyed Monster, a grotesque figure with a sludgy, decayed face and a single, horrifying eye.

Amy peels off her own face, trapped in a hellish reality where The One-Eyed Monster hunts her. Amid the terror, she hears a beautiful song that soothes her—but is it real?

Then she wakes up.

Now she’s in a nursing home, trapped in an aging body, haunted by memories of that night. She tells Lindsey, a young nursing assistant, the story of her past—how she once worked in a brothel, how The One-Eyed Monster slaughtered everyone inside, and how she barely escaped with her life.

But The One-Eyed Monster isn’t done with her yet. Tonight, he returns.

Will Amy finally defeat him? Or will she become his victim once and for all?
