Things are moving forward on The One-Eyed Monster, and I wanted to give you a few exciting updates.
First, I’ve connected with the talented Matt Burchfield, who is currently finishing up the editing of the short film version. Matt brings a sharp eye and creative sensibility to the project, and I’m thrilled with the direction it’s taking. This short film will serve as proof of concept as we build momentum for the feature-length version, giving potential investors, backers, and fans a first look at what we’re creating. Matt was also the DP on the film.
Second, I’ve launched a crowdfunding group specifically for those who are interested in being part of the journey behind the scenes. This is more than just a fundraising effort—it’s an invitation to be part of a horror film from the ground up. Members of the group will receive regular updates, special content, and an opportunity to earn an Associate Producer credit on the film. If that sounds like something you'd love to be a part of, you can join the group Here.
The crowdfunding campaign is currently scheduled for September, and we’re laying the groundwork to make it a success. If you’ve ever wanted to help bring an independent horror film to life, now is the time to jump in.
In addition to crowdfunding, I’m also offering a limited number of advertising spots in the film. If you're a business owner and want your brand to be featured in a gritty, nostalgic, and creepy horror film, this is a unique opportunity. Ad spots start as low as $250, and your business will be seen not only in the finished film but also during our festival run and at a special premiere screening in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Message me if you’d like more information about how to secure your spot.
Finally, if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a private investor, I’d be happy to provide additional details about how to get involved. Independent filmmaking is always a wild ride, but it’s also a chance to be part of something creative, unique, and potentially very rewarding.
Another update I'm excited about is that not only will I be launching a crowdfunding campaign in September, but a screenplay of mine will also be making its rounds at major studios through an agent I've secured in September. She loved the script and could not put it down, so she is submitting it to movie studios and people within the Hollywood industry. More updates on that project as they come in.
On a related note, I’ll be releasing my New Myths Course next week. If you’re a writer, filmmaker, or creator who’s interested in crafting stories that resonate with the culture of tomorrow, this course is for you. It’s designed to help storytellers break out of outdated formulas and write narratives that reflect the emerging mythologies of the next 20 years. Keep an eye out—I'll be sharing more soon.
As always, thank you for following my journey and supporting The One-Eyed Monster. I can't wait to show you what’s next.
